We always tell our guests that planning a Disney World vacation is unlike any vacation your family will ever plan. There are so many details that go into planning your Disney World vacation from your resort choice, package choice, ticket choice, and so much more. There are also all of the fun little details like what attractions to visit at each park and where to eat.

With hundreds of restaurants at Disney World it can be tough to decide what restaurants to visit. The one detail you will never have to worry about in selecting your restaurant is finding a restaurant with “good food.” This topic came up because several of our Disney Specialists just returned from a business trip to Washington, DC. They had a great trip but had such a hard time finding good restaurants. They got referrals from the locals (which helped) but the restaurants really were a hit or miss. We started talking about the Disney World Restaurants and how we have really never had a bad meal at Disney World. The counter service meals are good for fast food and the sit down meals are always exceptional. Our whole staff could not think of a meal that we did not enjoy at Disney and we visit Disney all of the time. Eating at Disney World is always a wonderful experience with themed restaurants and experiences you could only receive at the most magical place on Earth.

Enjoy planning your Disney World vacation but do not stress – you will have a great meal and experience no matter what restaurants you select. Many guest do not know that one of Disney World’s original hotels (Disney’s Golf Resort) was changes years and years ago to a military resort.  This military resort is called Shades of Green and is a wonderful way for our active military to save money on their Disney World vacation. This hotel is not owned or operated by Disney but you are located near Magic Kingdom (right on Disney property). Active military can get discount rates on tickets and rooms. The tickets are only a few dollars off the regular prices but the rooms can be much less expensive. The room rates are based on rank. Before booking your trip, check with Shades of Green.

Pirates and Princesses can enjoy the popular special event at Magic Kingdom into 2008.  You can embark on a quest for beads and chocolate treasures as you are immersed in a world of pirates and princesses during the “Pirate & Princess Party” at the Magic Kingdom Park. This park closes from 7 PM-midnight just for the Pirates and Princesses.  You will witness a special parade and fireworks, experience Pirate Coves and Princess Courts filled with treasure and specially-themed entertainment and enjoy Character Meet and Greets and some of the most popular Magic Kingdom Park attractions. For all of the little princesses and pirates in your family, this is a fun new special even just for them.

Family Reunions at Disney World with Grand Gatherings

Coming to Disney World with your family is always a great experience but imagine visiting Disney with your whole family or a group of friends! Some of my favorite memories growing up in Orlando was visiting Disney World with all of my cousins. These were some great memories playing at the Theme Parks and staying at our favorite Disney Resort – Disney’s Golf Resort (which is now the Shades of Green Resort).

For families today, you have many more exciting opportunities for your group of friends or family at the Walt Disney World Resort. If you have a group of 8 people or more, you are a Grand Gathering. Disney sets up your family as a Grand Gathering to keep you all together at your Disney Resort plus you can take advantage of additional activities just for groups of 8 people or more.

There are four amazing experiences for Grand Gatherings including the Safari Celebration Dinner, International Dinner and IllumiNations Dessert Reception, Good Morning Gathering, and Magical Fireworks Voyage. These are special experiences that only the Grand Gatherings can take advantage of during your vacation. Make a Disney World vacation even more magical, by inviting your family and friends to join you! For more information about Grand Gatherings, click here.

Save Money During a Holiday Vacation

One of our favorite times to visit Disney World is in December. Disney is extra magical over the Holidays with popular special events, decorations, and “Magic” around every corner. Disney has some amazing special events in December like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parade at Magic Kingdom Park, Holidays Around the World, and Mickey’s Jammin Jungle Parade. There are great special events at all of the Disney Theme Parks. All of the Disney Resorts and Downtown Disney are also decorated for Christmas with beautiful trees and lights themed after the Resorts. You can even see Santa himself at Downtown Disney.

Many guests plan a Holiday vacation to Disney World to enjoy all of this “extra magic”.  If you are planning a trip this December, you can save hundred of dollars on your vacation by starting your vacation on or before December 19.

Disney prices resorts based on seasons.  If you are flexible with your dates, you can save hundreds of dollars by visiting during a slower season.  December has two seasons called Value (which is the least expensive prices) and Holiday (which is the most expensive prices).  Disney’s Value Season is December 1-19 and Holiday Season is December 20-31.  If you can plan the 1st night of your vacation on December 19, you can take advantage of the Value Season for your entire vacation.  Holiday Season rates are $47 more per night for Disney’s All Star Resort and $215 more per night at a Deluxe Resort like Disney’s Polynesian Resort.  Depending on your Disney Resort choice, you can save alot of money by planning your vacation for a few days right before Christmas instead of after Christmas.
